The 3-month curriculum
The programme has three stages, each building on the last. Short on theory, long on practice.
- Month 1
Foundations on training heads
- Holding scissors, comb and clippers; posture and ergonomics
- Hygiene, disinfection and tool care
- Hair structure, head anatomy and face shapes
- Sectioning and cutting lines (drawn on training heads)
- The classic men’s cut
- Month 2
Technique
- Clippers and guard blending (0 – 0.5 – 1 – 1.5 – 2)
- Fade, skin fade and taper
- Scissor-over-comb, layering, long-hair cutting
- Beard design, face lines and straight razor
- Blow-dry, styling and product knowledge
- Month 3
Salon practice
- Working on real clients under instructor supervision
- Colouring and lightening (platinum) basics
- Skin care and waxing
- Client communication, consultation and speed

Training FAQ
How long is the men’s barber training?
Men’s barber training at Muharrem Bilen Academy takes 3 months: month 1 foundations on training heads, month 2 technique (fades, scissors, beards), month 3 real-client practice in the salon.
Is this the same as a barber course?
Yes. The programme covers everything a barber course teaches (clippers, fades, beards and the straight razor) together with scissor techniques, colouring and styling, in one 3-month training.
I have no experience. Can I really become a barber in 3 months?
The programme is designed for complete beginners. With regular attendance and practice, the goal is that you can perform core men’s cuts in a salon by the end of the 3 months.
Will I work on real clients?
Yes. After building the foundations on training heads, you work on real clients under instructor supervision in the final stage.
